The filter parts are described in more detail as follows:
for Canister #1: 5-micron Flow-Pro melt blown dual-gradient particulate filter cartridge. (Passive filtration.) This filter, which was tested and verified by an independent laboratory and is NSF certified for ANSI Standard 42, prepares water for downstream devices by reducing large sediment, sand, and various particles. This filter may be reusable, depending on the conditions of your well water.
for Canister #2: MAZ manganese treated sodium aluminosilicate filter cartridge. (Oxidation with passive filtration.) Designed to remove extremely high levels of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulphide. Removes particles and materials down to 10 microns in size. Made in China. This cartridge must be replaced after approximately 1 year.
for Canister #3: KDF extruded carbon block filter cartridge. (Oxidation, ionization through oxidation reduction potential/ORP.) Dissimilar metals (high purity copper and zinc) in this filter cause changes in a multitude of chemicals such as chlorine, arsenic, cobalt, antimony, copper, mercury, asbestos, cadmium, chloroform, chromium, hydrogen sulphide, lead, lindane, malathion and other pesticides, silver, tricholorethane, and many others. It also kills microorganisms and bacteria such as coliform and salmonella by creating hydroxyl radicals and interfering with electron transport mechanisms. KDF technology also changes the physical shape of hardness-causing minerals, changing the shape from crystals to rods, which reduces the formation and accumulation of scale in pipes and on metallic surfaces, This cartridge has a thick wall for long life and greater taste and odor reduction. Solid block activated carbon for long life. Reduces sediment and rust particles. 5-micron nominal filtration. Made in the U.S.A. The expected longevity of this KDF filter is well over one year.
for Stage #4: Alpine UV System. (High-intensity ultraviolet light; NOT INCLUDED IN THESE REPLACEMENT FILTERS.) Over 30,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter of disinfecting ultraviolet light to kill microorganisms such as e-coli, legionella, shigella dysenteriae, cholerae, yersinia enterocolitica, salmonella, polio virus type 1, hepatitis A virus, saccharomyces cerevisae, roto virus, etc. Operates on 110 Vac outlet and has opaque light verification port installed. UV bulb operates full time; SpringHouse manufacturer recommended replacing it annually. [Order this separately; it is not one of the filters in this filter replacement kit.]
for Canister #5: KDF55 granular activated carbon media filter cartridge. (Adsorption and passive filtration.) Designed to remove chlorine and chlorine by-products, and also VOC’s, chemicals, MTBE, and substances that affect taste and odor. This is the cartridge that is shown in the picture on this page; the black one had been in place for about 14 months; it once was white like the new one shown. 10-micron nominal rating. Assembled in the U.S.A. Under average conditions of use and water quality, this filter should be replaced annually.
for Canister #6: sequestering agent. (Anti-scalent.) 5-pound bag of polyphosphate crystals slowly dissolve in the effluent water and envelope the major components that cause scale buildup in pipes, coffee machines, shower partitions, fixtures, tile walls, etc., by causing the water to feel soft [though its actual hardness may actually be unchanged] and reducing deposition on materials. Hair and skin may feel cleaner when this sequestering agent is added to the process (some choose to leave it out). The manufacturer recommended replenishing these crystals every 6 months.
for Canister #7: 1-micron Flow-Max (absolute) particulate filter cartridge. (Passive filtration.) This is a premium filter cartridge with pleated design for high flow and long life. Removes sediment, rust, scale and particulate for greater water clarity. Independent tests show that this filter media meets or exceeds the 99.9% efficiency requirement established by the Water Quality Association for absolute micron rating. Ideal filter cartridge to reduce cryptosporidium, giardia and parasitic cysts, as well as amoeba and extremely small particles from water. Made in U.S.A. This cartridge may be washable and reusable; the manufacturer’s recommendation is to replace it annually.

Purpose of Stabilizing Bar: The stabilizing bar is offered as an optional accessory to aid persons with balance concerns or those recovering from injuries. It allows the user to control their position on the jump surface. It is purposely designed to move and flex with the user to prevent injury as they bounce. It is not a rigid or immovable bar. Not everyone needs a stabilizing bar. If you (i.e., the intended user) do not have balance issues, you probably do not need the bar; just order the rebounder, and save yourself $79. In other instances (due to the nature of a user’s infirmity or injury) one stabilizing bar is not enough and you actually need two!
Improper use of a stabilizing bar can damage the frame and leg tubes of the rebounder. When properly used, pressure on the stabilizing bar is directed downward to the floor. Pulling the bar toward the user or pressing it away from the user puts direct stress on the leg tube. Even when set at the lowest setting, the leverage generated can break the platform pin from the frame and deform or split the leg tube. Needak (the manufacturer) places a warning label on every stabilizing bar cautioning about this and giving notice that it will void the warranty based on evidence of misuse. Most instances Needak has observed of damages to rebounders have been caused by children. Children generally have good balance and do not need a bar. $39.50 ]]>This rare recording of Ethel Barrett’s dramatic presentation about the life of Dwight L. Moody was recorded at Moody Bible Institute during Founder’s Week on April 4, 1967. Here is what Christian author Ray Stedman wrote about it:
“Many of us were challenged anew last night as Ethel Barrett related the story of D. L. Moody walking down a street in New York City and thinking about a sentence he had heard; `The world has yet to see what God can do with a man who is wholly yielded unto him.’ There came into his heart a great hunger, and he cried out, `O God, make me that man!’ He was so filled with a sense of the overwhelming love of God that he had to go to a friend’s house nearby, and ask for the use of a room. He went into that room and for an hour or more was caught up by this purifying passion. Dwight Lyman Moody was born and died in Northfield, Massachusetts, 1837-1899. He was the father of three children Emma (1864), William “Willie” Revell (1869 – who wrote his authorized biography, which was the source of this picture, and through whose eyes Ethel Barrett tells this story), and Paul Dwight (1879). His education consisted of attending a rural one-room schoolhouse for a few years in the 1840s. In 1856 he moved to Chicago and worked as a shoe salesman. Two years later he began a Sunday school for poor children in Chicago which became the Illinois Street Church (now Moody Church). In 1860 he quit his job and entered by faith into unpaid full-time Christian work. During the Civil War he was busy with evangelistic and humanitarian work among soldiers. From 1865 until his death he held huge evangelistic meetings throughout the U.S. and in Great Britain with Ira Sankey. In addition, Moody was involved in the development of Northfield Seminary (now Northfield School for Girls), Mount Hermon Massachusetts School for Boys, the Chicago Evangelization Society (now Moody Bible Institute) and other ministries. In the first place, I never even knew that Charles Dickens had written a child’s history of England. But given his writing style, and that it was for children (even I could understand that), it had to be riveting and I must have it!
In the second place, in which old bookstore would I find it? Where in the entire world would it be? Coughing and spluttering through rare volumes, I searched, I found, I seized with joy. Veni, Vidi, Vici! (I came, I saw, I conquered.)
And in the third place, with whom could I share my great treasure? The pages were so old and brittle, they barely made it from one side of the book to the other as I turned them.
Idea! I shall record the entire book to share with my friends. Sneezing through the mildew and dust, making out some words that were barely there, I prayed to give you a rapid-paced, winsome rendering of Dickens’ history. I daresay that when you listen you’ll find yourself routing about for a bit of British tea and crumpets, too! It just takes one over, you know.

It is with mixed emotions that I send you this chapter of man’s history. While recording, at times I felt like renaming the whole saga “101 ways to be devious, treacherous and cutthroat.”
It is truly the story of fallen man. At no time was a king or queen secure upon the throne. For, once they gained it they were immediately the targets of relatives who engaged in espionage. Both king and people were fearful of murder and retribution from each other.
Religious persecution was oftentimes severe. The lust to conquer other countries was apparently unquenchable. For a while England imbibed the spirit of Alexander the Great who, after conquering the entire known world by the age of 30, sat down and wept that there were no more.
As Americans, hearing this history of our mother country puts in bold relief why it was that the Pilgrims and Puritans were willing to risk anything and to go to any lengths to establish a new kingdom. But alas, now we see it, too, crumbling. From such a bright beginning, man falls yet again. Now with no place to go but the moon, we cry “uncle” at last, saying, “Oh LORD, deliver us from the rule of man. May the kingdoms of this earth become the kingdoms of our LORD and of His Messiah, that He alone may reign forever and ever.” The historical record shows that mankind does, after all, need a Savior.
