The new Twin Towers: A re-run of the Tower of Babel?

In light of the fact that we are currently rebuilding on the site of the Twin Towers, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire makes for an interesting read. 

Civilizations DO collapse.  No doubt, America will soon join their ranks.  There is no mention of her in Revelation.  It is stunningly silent on the point.  We see in the Old Testament the relentless successive stories of the WHY of the fall and collapse of nations, great and small.  Explaining how to avoid such a collapse, the Bible is filled with strong scriptures that if Israel (as an example for all nations) were devoted to God, in some strange way its national SECURITY would be connected to that.  Countless scriptures say that her borders will be defended, and that she will dwell in safety, IF she worships the one true God and cultivates the attendant morality.  One gets the sense that even the most sophisticated armament and defense savvy are as tinker toys if the stomach has gone out of a nation’s moral fiber.  Rome had the greatest army in the world, but the vilest bedrooms.

Our mistake in response to the Twin Towers disaster is to “rebuild” instead of to “repent”.  To CHOOSE to rebuild in PREFERENCE to repenting, with no eye to repenting, is counting on the arm of our flesh to prevail—in direct defiance of owning any allegiance or responsibility to God…let alone having any desire to actually LOVE Him.  There is not even a cocking of the head as to WHY the Twin Towers (the paramount symbol of all our wealth) fell.  How did the enemy get THROUGH?  Why is our protection gone, despite the best armament in the history of the world?  If we think we can prevail without a corresponding moral change, we are wrong.  We cannot.  Rome said it, Babylon said it, Assyria asserted it: the exact words.  “We will REBUILD.”  Despite the best architectural genius in the world, we may never get to finish.  The Tower of Babel was never rebuilt.  America has collapsed.  It stumbles on in delusion for a half a year more? a month more?  Americans think it can’t happen to them…based on….????  All it takes if for a child to SAY, “But the emperor has no clothes on!”, or to say… “But Daddy, the money in your wallet is only paper.”  Hillary Clinton gave to China all our real estate as collateral for our last “loan”.

We currently sit on a ruined capitalism.  Our coffers are empty with no WAY to replenish them…EVER.  At 14 trillion (not to mention the 16 trillion the Federal Reserve loaned foreign banks) we have sold ourselves into slavery.  The bricks we use to “rebuild” will need more and more straw, with no time or place to find any.  We only wait for the moment when China will deny our next feeble request for more of their steel…because we have none.  God put his thumb on our finances while we partied with our wicked video games, unimaginable number of abortions, pornography industry (we are the world’s largest exporter of that filth) and swearing secularism.  God’s thumb is downstream from His divine heart.  The two are inextricably connected.  No amount of rhetoric from ANY politician hailing from the Right will fix this.  Vaulting words are wind when the moral DOING has gone out of a nation’s appetites.  One has only to look at the CURRENT shameless line of covers of ALL our books and DVD’s on one’s next trip through Wal-Mart.  Would we have seen even one of those covers in the 1800s?  But we can be sure such mental desserts lined the shelves in Sodom and Gomorrah on papyrus or clay, the night before those cities burned.
